Group Therapy in San Antonio, TX

A Place to Grow, Heal, and Find Community

Sometimes, the hardest part of healing is feeling like you’re the only one going through it.
You’re not.

Group therapy offers something powerful that individual therapy sometimes can’t — the reminder that you’re not alone.
That your struggles make sense.
That other people get it — because they’re walking through it too.

At Sagebrush Counseling, I offer virtual group therapy options for adults across San Antonio. Whether you're navigating ADHD, grief, self-esteem issues, divorce, or just the messiness of being human — there’s a place for you here.

Why Group Therapy?

If you’ve never been in a therapy group before, you might be wondering what it’s really like.

Group therapy isn’t about being put on the spot, forced to share your deepest secrets, or judged by strangers.
It’s about connection.
It’s about hearing, "Me too," when you thought you were the only one.

In group therapy, you can:

  • Share your story (only when you’re ready) and feel truly heard

  • Learn from others' experiences — the setbacks and the wins

  • Build new coping skills in a supportive environment

  • Practice healthy communication and boundaries

  • Feel less alone in whatever you’re facing

And sometimes? You even find laughter, hope, and real friendships along the way.

Current Group Therapy Offerings

Here are the groups I currently offer for San Antonio-area residents (all groups meet virtually):

  • ADHD Support Group (Co-Ed)
For adults navigating focus challenges, overwhelm, and self-acceptance.

  • Men’s Divorce Support Group
For men processing grief, rebuilding identity, and figuring out what comes next.

  • Adulting Group for Young Adults
For 20- and 30-somethings trying to manage the pressures of "growing up" — career, relationships, self-worth, and everything in between.

  • Women’s Infidelity Support Group
For women healing from the pain of being cheated on, finding self-trust again.

  • Post-Affair Self-Discovery Group
For individuals who experienced or initiated an affair and want to explore deeper patterns, without judgment.

  • Body Trust & Self-Compassion Group
For those ready to move away from body shame and toward a gentler, more compassionate relationship with themselves.

  • Spiritual Direction & Exploration Group
For those deconstructing, reconstructing, or simply exploring their spiritual path.

Each group meets once a week from 6–7 PM, with open enrollment, so you can join when you’re ready.

What to Expect in Group Therapy

You don't have to share right away.
You don't have to have the “right” words.
You don’t even have to be sure you belong (spoiler: you do).

In group sessions, we:

  • Create a safe, confidential space where respect and compassion come first

  • Balance structured activities and open discussions based on the group’s needs

  • Offer support, not advice (unless someone asks)

  • Celebrate progress, no matter how small it feels

  • Remind each other that healing isn’t linear — and that’s okay

You’ll always be invited to participate — never pressured.

Why Group Therapy Matters — Especially in San Antonio

San Antonio is known for its strong sense of community — and that’s exactly what group therapy taps into.

When life gets overwhelming, it’s easy to feel like you have to figure it all out on your own. Especially in a city where family and independence are so highly valued, asking for support can sometimes feel... complicated.

But here’s the thing:
Healing isn’t meant to happen in isolation.
Growth happens in connection.

Group therapy gives you the chance to practice that — safely, gently, one conversation at a time.

Why Join a Group With Sagebrush Counseling?

When you join a group here, you’re not just getting "another appointment on your calendar."
You’re stepping into a space built with real care, intention, and understanding.

At Sagebrush Counseling, you’ll find:

  • Small groups — to keep things personal and supportive

  • A therapist who gets it — and knows how to guide meaningful conversations

  • Flexibility — with virtual groups that fit your busy life

  • A trauma-informed approach — because real growth needs real safety

  • A welcoming space — whether you’re shy, skeptical, or somewhere in between

You deserve a community that sees you — not just the version of you the world expects.
