Parts Work Worksheet

Exploring Your Inner Aspects & Parts

Inner Multiplicity

Parts work recognizes that we all have different aspects and parts within us. By understanding and integrating these parts, we can develop greater self-awareness, reduce inner conflict, and live with more harmony and wholeness.

Exploring Your Inner Parts

This worksheet guides you through identifying, understanding, and integrating the different aspects of yourself to create greater inner harmony and self-awareness.

1. Parts Awareness

We all have different parts or aspects of ourselves - different roles and ways of being that emerge in various situations. These parts often have different needs, fears, strengths, and perspectives.

2. Parts Mapping

Mapping your parts involves identifying specific aspects of yourself, understanding their roles, and getting to know them more deeply. Each part has its own personality, motivations, and protective strategies.

What does this part want or need?
When does this part show up?
What does this part fear?

Facilitating Conversation Between Parts

Sometimes our parts are in conflict with each other. Creating dialogue between parts can help them understand each other and find ways to work together.

Part B
Write a dialogue between these two parts. What would each part want to say to the other? What would they want the other to understand?

4. Understanding Parts Roles

Recognizing How Your Parts Serve You

Different parts often take on different roles in your life. Understanding these roles helps you appreciate each part's contribution and see how they might work together more harmoniously.

Protector Parts
Parts that shield you from harm, criticism, or pain
Creative & Expressive Parts
Parts that bring joy, creativity, and authentic expression
Wise & Guiding Parts
Parts that offer wisdom, perspective, and guidance
Vulnerable Parts

5. Resolving Inner Conflicts

Working with Competing Parts

When parts have conflicting needs or strategies, it can create internal tension. The goal isn't to eliminate parts but to help them understand each other and find collaborative solutions.

6. Parts Integration Practice

Integration doesn't mean all parts agree or want the same things. It means developing a sense of internal leadership that can hold space for all parts, understand their needs, and help them work together toward your overall wellbeing.

7. Parts Appreciation Practice

Honoring Your Inner Community

Each part of you developed for good reasons and serves important functions, even when their strategies sometimes cause problems. Appreciating your parts helps create internal harmony and self-acceptance.

Integration & Next Steps

Parts work is an ongoing practice of building relationship with your inner community. The goal is developing internal leadership that can work skillfully with all aspects of yourself.
